This 90 minute clinic
provides an overview of how Windows Server Code Name
"Longhorn" eases the task of managing and securing multiple
server roles in an enterprise with a variety of new features
and technologies.
Audience
IT Professionals currently
experienced on the technologies included in Windows Server
2000 and Windows Server 2003, and who hold an MCSE or MCSA
certification and/or equivalent knowledge.
At Clinic Completion
Session 1: Server
Manager/Initial Configuration Tasks
This lesson will provide a
high-level overview of the new server roles and features
available in Windows Server Code Name "Longhorn".
Session 2: Windows
PowerShell
This lesson will provide a
general introduction to Windows PowerShell and how it can be
utilized to streamline management of multiple servers.
Session 3: Remote
Management
This lesson will provide an
overview of the Windows Remote Shell environment and how
administrators can use Windows Remote Management to
streamline management of servers across the enterprise.
Session 4: Server Core
This lesson will provide an
overview of the new Server Core capabilities of Windows
Server Code Name "Longhorn" and will assist an administrator
in understanding how to implement it for the purpose of
reducing management and services needs while improving
security.
Prerequisites
IT Professionals skilled on
the technologies included in Windows Server 2000 and Windows
Server 2003.
