This two-day instructor-led workshop provides students with the
knowledge and skills to understand 200-level baseline information on
Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. The workshop focuses on
understanding scenarios of Office Communications Server 2007 (OCS
2007), Office Communicator, and integration with Exchange 2007.
Audience
This course is intended for both novice and experienced IT
Professionals who are concerned about delivering IM/Presence,
Conferencing, and Voice solutions to the Enterprise.

Before attending this course, students must have core knowledge
of TCP/IP, Certificate Services, and core Windows Server knowledge.

Module 1: Architecture
Module 1 details the system architecture that is used by OCS
2007. This module details OCS fundamentals, server roles, and
component dependencies. This module also details planning and
deployment scenarios.

Lab 1 guides the attendee through preparing Active Directory and
DNS for an OCS installation. Following these steps, OCS 2007 is
installed and validated.
Module 2: IM and Rich Presence
Module 2 describes the rich presence advancement that Office
Communications Server is delivering. Additionally this module
describes Office Communicator clients, and deployment scenarios.

Module 3: Conferencing
Module 3 illustrates the new on-premise conferencing capability
within OCS 2007 and the differences between LiveMeeting Service and
on-premise capability. This module also differentiates conferencing
clients and requirements.

Module 4: Management and Troubleshooting
Module 4 articulates the new management tools and techniques for
troubleshooting OCS 2007. This module walks through some tools and
techniques for identifying any deployment problems.

Module 5: Voice Architecture
Module 5 describes planning for adding voice capability to your
OCS 2007 implementation. This module assists in understanding the
dial-plan, and connecting to the telephony infrastructure.

environment.

infrastructure.

deliver compliance scenarios. This module also details tools and
techniques for reporting information.
